All Saints Church Commends Release of Torture Report. [December 2014]

Read our resolution against the use of torture, adopted by the Vestry of All Saints Church, Pasadena, on March 23, 2010.

All Saints Church stands firmly against torture. We have joined forces with the National Religious Campaign Against Torture to urge Congress to create an independent commission of inquiry into investigate U.S. torture policies and practices.

Read the rector's May 24, 2012 op-ed letter, Apologies Are More Than Just Words, to the Pasadena Star News, here.

From the rector’s June 2009 letter to President Obama:

“Bonhoeffer’s counsel that “you cannot have community without accountability” applies to U.S. sponsored torture and our place as a moral leader in the world. For us to take our part in changing the human race into the human family we must acknowledge the facts about what we did and set into place safeguards for not doing it again.”
