Sunday, January 24
When we created a “wish list” of Rector’s Forum speakers for Ed Bacon’s final year as rector at All Saints Church, our friend Gene Robinson was high on the list. Now retired, Bishop Robinson’s election as the 9th Bishop of New Hampshire in 2003 sent shockwaves through the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion in specific and Christianity in general.
As the first openly gay bishop he was a true trailblazer for LGBT equality — not only in the church but in the world — and his courageous and grace-filled witness to the God who “loves you beyond your wildest imaginings” has been an inspiration to all.
We are so honored and delighted to welcome him back “home” to All Saints Church — a place Bishop Robinson has called his “home away from home.” He will be our preacher on Sunday, January 24th at the 9:00 and 11:15am services as well as the speaker in the Rector’s Forum — where Ed Bacon will interview him about his journey and what kind of spiritual resources keep him aligned with God’s love, justice and compassion.
Mark your calendars now and don’t miss this chance to learn from and be inspired by one of the true giants of justice of our generation. If you can’t join us in person, you can join our growing digital community by live-streaming the Forum at 10:15am and the service at 11:15am on this link.
