PATHWAYS Access & Disability Ministry — a ministry of All Saints Church — strives to ensure a barrier free campus that makes access and full participation in all aspects of church life and worship easier for everyone. PATHWAYS works to support and advocate for persons with disabilities, their family/friends and serves as an advisory committee identifying and overcoming physical, communication, attitudinal and language barriers.
As our featured ministry on Sunday, July 26th, PATHWAYS joins with those around the nation celebrating the 25th anniversary of the ADA (American with Disabilities Act). Signed into law on July 26, 1990 by President George H.W. Bush the ADA established a clear and comprehensive national mandate for the elimination of discrimination against individuals with disabilities. The ADA has expanded opportunities for Americans with disabilities by reducing barriers and changing perceptions, and increasing full participation in community life.
On July 26, 2015, All Saints will celebrate the 25th anniversary of this historic legislation as well as marking the beginning of the Special Olympics World Games being held here in Los Angeles starting July 25th.
