Kenneth Turan has a dream job — as a film critic for the Los Angeles Times he is required to see movies all the time! It is such a gift when he appears each year at our 10:15 Rector’s Forum — as he does this Sunday — to talk about the Academy Awards.
Not only does he help us sort through the impossible number of films nominated for best picture, and the various women and men nominated for acting and directing, he loves answering your questions. He has admitted that on some of his visits he has learned something new himself.
In addition to having been an acclaimed film critic for the Los Angeles Times since 1971, Turan can be heard on NPR’s Morning Edition and KUSC-FM’s Arts Alive. He also directs the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes. Bring your notebook and pen and prepare for a great time!
