We are delighted to welcome back noted theologian and gifted teacher Marcus Borg as the keynote speaker for All Saints’ LENT EVENT 2014. Internationally known in both academic and church circles as a leading biblical and Jesus scholar, Dr. Borg has been in the forefront of the movement calling the church to reclaim the Christianity of Jesus by putting its faith in action in the world.
The Christian life is not about believing now or being good for heaven later, but it is about entering a relationship in the present that begins to change everything now; both ourselves and the society in which we live. Spirituality is about this process: the opening of the heart to the God who is already here.
The weekend will offer three opportunities to hear Dr. Borg explore what it means to live a life today of Contemplation, Action and Justice!
Signups begin on the Church lawn Sunday, Feb. 23. You can also sign up online, starting at 9 AM on 2/23. The cost is $20 for any and all of the Lent Event, although Marcus Borg’s 10:15 Sunday morning talk is free.
