Director of Liturgy
Melissa Hayes has been on staff at All Saints since 2000. A cradle Episcopalian, Melissa was born in West Point, New York. Living the nomadic, military lifestyle also lived in Washington, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Washington D.C. (three different times!) and Seoul, Korea. She received a BFA in Performing Arts from Western Kentucky University followed by an Equity apprenticeship at Tennessee Repertory Theatre. She studied with Second City in Chicago and LA as well as with the Groundlings, A Noise Within and the Will Geer Theatricum. She has worked on stage, TV, film and voiceovers.
She spent six years studying rhetoric and performing works of John Milton, Shakespeare, Tom Stoppard among others where she gained a deep respect for language and heightened speech. Her love of language led her to work with liturgy.
She is a member of Coventry Choir – and very grateful for the amazing music program of All Saints. She co-mentors an Education for Ministry class.
She is thrilled to work in a church that is thoughtful, intentional and diverse in choosing language and music.
