Sally Howard will preach at the 1:00 p.m. bilingual Spanish/English service — with music by Dan Cole and the 1 PM Ensemble.

Welcome Coffees are held for visitors after both the 9:00 and 11:15 a.m. services in the Rector’s Office, across the quad lawn from the sanctuary.

Rector’s Forum: Patriarchy, Predators and Glass Ceilings: Truth-Telling and Justice For Victims of Sexual Assault in Hollywood

Scripture tells us that “the truth will set us free” — and our nation is experiencing a season of truth telling on the pervasive toxin of sexual abuse and harassment. Join us for an important and timely Rector’s Forum with Karen Alexander (model), Quinn Cummings (actor and author, The Goodbye Girl, The Year of Learning Dangerously), Erin O’Malley (Executive Producer and director, New Girl, Curb Your Enthusiasm) and Janet Carol Norton (agent, partner and Co-Head of television production at ICM Partners) to discuss the abuses, assault and struggles women, men and members of the LGBTQ community face in the entertainment industry and what a true movement for justice might be. Amy Brenneman (actor-producer, Judging Amy, The Leftovers) will moderate. Forum.

Children’s Chapel in the Learning Center (9:00 and 11:15 a.m.) Children K–5th grade join their families in church at the beginning services, then follow the banner out for Children’s Chapel before the sermon, returning for communion. Parents are always welcome to join us in Children’s Chapel.

At 5:00 p.m. this Sunday:
Advent Evening Service, Potluck and Wreath Making

Sunday, Dec. 3, 5:00 p.m. in the Church. Minisingers, Mastersingers and Troubadours offer music, directed by Jenny Tisi. Kelly Phelan offers a meditation. Immediately following the service, Parish Celebrations, the LGBTQ Ministry, and Children Youth and Families (CYF) invite you to join them in their Advent potluck supper and Advent wreath making in Sweetland Hall. If you are able, please bring a dish that will serve 12 people. If your last name starts with A – L bring a main dish; M – Z bring a salad or vegetables. Parking on Sundays Sunday parking at Plaza Las Fuentes (Westin Hotel) is only validated until 1:00 p.m. — after which parking fees accrue. If you are attending the 1:00 p.m. Spanish Language/Bilingual Service or staying for an afternoon event, please park at the Kaiser parking structure, north of the church on the northeast corner of Euclid Ave. and Walnut, where the parking is free.
