Saturday, June 18
Thirty-one of our Trouveres will be attending the Pacific International Choral Festival (Picfest) in Eugene, Oregon June 21st – 27th — a festival featuring ten children’s and youth choirs from around the country. All Saints is honored to be the only church choir participating in this prestigious festival.
At Picfest, the Trouveres will have the opportunity to work with Bob Chilcott, conductor and composer, and former singer in the Kings Singers. They will sing music Bob has composed for the massed festival choir — which will feature texts by (or inspired by) the writings of William Shakespeare. Additionally, Bob composed a new work for choir just for this festival called, “Ophelia, Caliban, and Miranda.” This work with be accompanied by the Grammy Award Winning Yellowjackets, featuring our own Russell Ferrante.
The Trouveres will be presenting their own concert at the festival, as well as singing at a church service in the town of Eugene. The festival will conclude with the nearly 400 voiced massed choir.
We will be offering a preview-concert at All Saints as a send off on June 18th at 5pm. There is a suggested donation of $5 to support the Trouveres on this journey.
