Sunday, December 13
Our friends at MPAC (Muslim Public Affairs Council) have just announced that this Sunday (December 13) at noon the Muslim Communities of Southern California and their Interfaith Alliance friends will gather at LA City Hall for a rally against violence and extremism. They will be joined by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck, and prominent speakers from all faiths and background for #Unite4HumanityLA. Further details are available on this link to the Facebook event.
We are encouraging members of All Saints Church to not only keep this important witness in your prayers but to consider:
- Attending the 9:00 service on Sunday
- Joining Ed Bacon in the Rector’s Forum for his very personal reflections on hope in the face of terrorism and violence
- Following the Forum, joining with Susan Russell and other members of All Saints Church taking the Metro downtown to City Hall to stand in solidarity with all those working to end violence and extremism — in words and in action — in our nation.
Rally signs will be available to make our presence known (see above) or feel free to make your own.
We realize this is short notice in an already VERY packed season and on a very full Sunday and yet the extraordinary challenges we face as a nation in this moment call to us to make an effort to field a presence at the rally on Sunday. Help us spread the word. Help spread the love. Help us make a difference.
