Armistice Day was established on November 11th to commemorate the end of World War I and to honor those who died in war. After World War II the name was changed to Veteran’s Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in the British Commonwealth Nations. In the U.S. the day evolved to be a day to honor all Veterans alive or dead.
On Sunday, November 9th at All Saints Church we honor our veterans and active service members by writing messages of thanksgiving for their service. We hold military families in prayer and thanksgiving as we continue to work and pray for a world without war and violence. Please go to the Action Table on Sunday and take a moment to write a message of thanks, peace, and good wishes to a retired or active duty service member.
