The 10th Annual All Saints Foster Care Project Art Show will take place in Sweetland Hall on Sunday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The walls will be filled with almost 40 wonderful works of art by foster children and youth along with those of young adults who have transitioned out of foster care. The Art Show is just in time for families to buy a unique gift for Mother’s Day.
The Art represents the hard work of art teachers and their students in programs at local foster agencies including: Five Acres, Hathaway-Sycamores, Hillsides, Maryvale, and My Friend’s Place. Jessie Castillo, a professional artist and former foster youth, will also be displaying his art. You can meet many of the artists during the Show who will be honored with a sit-down lunch during the festivities.
The Art Show is extremely encouraging to the foster youth, who are often astonished that their artwork receives such positive recognition and response. They receive 100% of the price of their artwork. Last year’s Art Show sold out by 11 a.m., so try to arrive early in order to have the best selection.
The Foster Care Art Show is organized by professional art curator Jay Belloli, with extensive help provided by numerous volunteers from the Foster Care Project and the wider church community.
