Monday, February 27
On Monday, February 27 we will mark the beginning of this new chapter in the life of All Saints Church with a liturgical celebration of ministry welcoming Mike Kinman as our 10th Rector. We are honored that the Reverend Becca Stevens — recent CNN Heroes inductee and author of “Find Your Way Home” (our 2016 “One Church, One Book) — will be our preacher. And we are delighted to welcome back our Bishop Suffragan Diane Jardine Bruce as celebrant for the festival bilingual service, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Mike began his tenure as Rector of All Saints Church on November 1, 2016 — and the service celebrating the ministry we share will included parish members, community leaders, interfaith colleagues and diocesan friends. We are also thrilled to announce that the evening will include the debut of a new choral work: Bill Cunliffe’s “Oremos Todos” (“Let Us All Pray”) with text adapted from a prayer by our preacher, Becca Stevens. The anthem will be sung by our 1pm Ensemble and Canterbury Choir.
Becca Stevens is an author, speaker, priest, social entrepreneur, founder and president of Thistle Farms — a powerful global community of women healing from prostitution, trafficking and addiction. Featured in the New York Times, on ABC World News, NPR, PBS, and named a “Champion of Change” by the White House in 2011, Becca electrified the 2015 General Convention of the Episcopal Church with this powerful sermon.
Monday, February 27th at 7:30 p.m. in the church. Sign language interpreting available. A reception will follow. Childcare and parking provided.
