Every week at All Saints Church we put our faith into action. This week we are thanking Senator Anthony Portantino for his work and leadership on Housing and Climate.

We supported many major bills passed through the legislature this year. Last week Gov. Gavin Newsom signed AB 2097 into law just last week. This important reform will make it easier to build dense, transit-friendly homes with little to no parking. And it wouldn’t have  happened without the support and leadership of state Senator Anthony Portantino. This law will help us cut our carbon emissions and fix our housing crisis.

We thank Sen. Portantino, in particular, for engaging with climate, transportation and activists and on how best to reform parking requirements. We are grateful that he coauthored AB 2097. We are supportive of the agreements made to get this legislation passed. We look forward to making more progress in the future.

The election is November 8. Mail In Ballots will be going out starting October 10. The last day to register to vote on line is October 24, however, you can register to vote in person at a Voting Center through Election Day. And don’t forget, on Sunday, November 6th we will March to the Ballot Box! Save the date and cast your ballot at City Hall in Community with Team All Saints GOTV (Get Out the Vote)! As George Regas used to say, “It is sin not to vote.”
