Sunday, September 11, 5:00–7:30 p.m. in Sweetland Hall
The Interfaith Study Group will begin the program year back in-person for the first time since the pandemic began. For this meeting we’ve chosen three of our Interfaith Planning Committee Members: Joan Abu Bakir, Rosemary Hyde, and Carl Selkin, to share with you their personal interfaith stories and encourage you to share your story during our potluck dinner.
It has been a long time since we’ve enjoyed being together but many of you who have been attending our events over the years, will remember that our main interfaith activity is building kinship between Muslim, Christian and Jewish people. At the beginning of every meeting everyone enjoys the opportunity to make new friends. Following our speaker’s presentation, we enjoy a fabulous potluck dinner after reciting our interfaith blessing. During dinner we share our thoughts and reflections of the presentation and for the last 20 minutes we engage in a lively discussion with the speaker. Please bring an open heart and mind willing to listen and learn, and a vegetarian dish to share at our potluck. We’re looking forward to seeing you in person again!
