On Wednesday, February 15, in the All Saints Chapel at 12:00 p.m. we will celebrate the Feast Day of Absalom Jones at our weekly Noon Eucharist. The first African American ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church, Absalom Jones was enslaved from his birth in 1743 until he purchased his freedom at the age of 38. He was a spiritual leader among freed black people in Philadelphia, and ultimately founded the African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas, which continues to thrive today. A biography of his life offered by the Historical Society of the Episcopal Church is available here. Join us as we celebrate his work and witness. All are welcome!
Our weekly noon worship service with Prayers for Healing is every Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. It is a 30-minute service with scripture, prayers, shared homily, and the Eucharist. This service is great for people who work Sundays, or who just want to gather in the middle of the week for a loving and intimate spiritual experience. We’re in the Chapel of All Saints Church, 132 N. Euclid, Pasadena 91101, directly across Euclid from Pasadena City Hall.
