Sunday, April 14 — We All Live in Gaza – film pre-screening, art exhibit and conversation
12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Church.
We All Live in Gaza tells the story of what has happened historically and what is happening today inside Gaza through the eyes of artists and musicians. The project seeks answers why the siege is continuing unabated, and most critically explores the issues of how a just resolution can be found. The story also features farmer Mohammed Obied and his family. They are caught in the middle of a geopolitical conflict over which they have little to no control. And their story is tragically real.
In addition to portions of the film, there will be a presentation of a large reproduced work “No Words” by Gazan artist Malak Mattar shared for the first time in The United States, which was just unveiled in London last month. Prints by other Gazan artists will be available for sale. There will also be a chance for open conversation with filmmaker Maurice Jacobson, who has worked in Gaza with the artists this past decade (https://www.we-gaza.com/).
