Celebrating the Dedication of the James Walker Choir Room

On Wednesday & Thursday evenings May 2 & 3, 2018 members of Canterbury and Coventry Choirs celebrated the blessing and dedication of the James Walker Choir Room. The choir room was named in his honor when James ended his tenure at All Saints Church in June 2017 after thirty-four years on staff — commemorated by this plaque recently installed outside the choir room.

Psalm 92:1-4

It is good to give thanks to you, Lord,
To sing praises to your name, O Most High;
To declare your steadfast love in the morning,
And your faithfulness by night,
To the music of the lute and the harp,
To the melody of the lyre.
For you, O Lord, have made us glad by your work;
At the works of your hands we sing for joy.

God dwells in you.
And also with you.
Let us pray:

O God, whom saints and angels delight to worship in heaven: Be ever present with your servants who seek through art and music to perfect the praises offered by your people on earth; and grant to them even now glimpses of your beauty. Bless this choir room — which we now dedicate to the glory of God and in thanksgiving for thirty-four years of faithful ministry by James Walker — that it might continue to be a source of community, creativity and artistic excellence. Amen.
