Clergy Search Process Update

this Sunday

All Saints Church is in the process of searching for two new clergy colleagues to join us in our ongoing work and witness. From Mike Kinman’s May 1st announcement:

The clergy search team, co-chaired by Juan Mejia and Flor Quintanilla, and including Carlos Carrillo, Adelaide Esseln, Sally Howard, Claudia Owens Shields, Judy Van Vleet, Derek Wan, Trula Worthy-Clayton and myself, has created job postings for two additional associate rector positions. The postings are going public today — and the job descriptions are here. We will begin receiving applications immediately and through the rest of May. We will keep you updated on the progress of both searches.

These hires will enable us to bring new, creative talent into our community, continue to restructure our staff in a way that puts an emphasis on shared ministry and collaboration and ease the load of several key existing staff members.

Toward the commitment to transparency and keeping the parish apprised of the status of the process, Search Committee co-chair Juan Mejia offers this update on their work:

The deadline for applications was May 29th and the committee was gratified to receive 22 applicants for our two open positions. After our meeting on May 30th the committee scheduled six first round interviews via Zoom in the second half of June. We are going to ask six candidates for permission to contact references and ask for links to sermons. We will also be thanking and excusing 11 candidates in the coming days. The committee will meet again on June 24th.

We continue to ask for your prayers for the work of the search committee, for all those participating in our search process and  in giving thanks for the generosity of this community, which makes these additions to our staff possible.

Stay tuned for further updates!
