Election Day 2020 at All Saints Church

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3 — and All Saints Church is mobilizing to offer opportunities to gather in community … in person and online … as we mark what is arguably one of the most significant elections of our generation.

First of all: VOTE! Help All Saints be a 100% Voting Congregation! For everything you need to know about casting your vote, visit our Vote2020 webpage.

Gather in person: The sanctuary will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. for those who wish to light a candle, say a prayer and spend some time in reflection in the sacred space that is All Saints Church. Occupancy will be limited based on county health and diocesan COVID19 protocols and masks and social distancing will be strictly required. Staff members and parish leaders will be available to assist you.

Also in person: Noonday prayers will be held at 12 noon on the steps of the South Tower, and will be followed by renowned violinist Vijay Gupta who will perform for an hour on the south driveway. Follow the Noonday Prayer Service with the service leaflet here.

Gather Online: A 24-Hour Zoom Vigil with opportunities for Prayer, Meditation, Movement, Music & Community. We will begin with the Noon Election Day Prayer service on Tuesday, November 3 (streamed live on Zoom — and Facebook — from the steps of the South Tower), and continue together through the evening, the wee hours of the morning, ending with our Noonday Prayer & Healing service on Wednesday, November 4. Service leaflet available here.

To join the Zoom Vigil in progress, view the schedule, or signup for an hour, find all the links at: http://allsaints-pas.org/election-vigil/ (the Zoom link will not be active until 11:45 a.m. on Nov. 3).

Hosts for the vigil will shepherd each of the 24 unique 1-hour segments with something that will provide quiet rest, a listening ear, musical interludes and dance or movement. Some hours will be a time for sharing experiences and stresses, and some will be literal dance parties – all as an alternative to the stress of the day. Anyone is welcome to join our main Vigil Room, whether you are a guest, a host, or just curious to check it out for a few minutes. You do not need to turn on your video or audio, if you wish, and please feel free to just watch.

At times there may be available break-out rooms for specific subgroups. Those links and times will be listed here and on the Zoom-cast.

So join us on this Election Day 2020 as we make All Saints Church, Pasadena, an epicenter of prayer for our nation, ourselves and our world.

Almighty God, to whom we must account for all our powers and privileges: Guide the people of the United States in the election of officials and representatives; that, by faithful administration and wise laws, the rights of all may be protected and our nation be enabled to fulfill your purposes; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
