About Community Allies
Homelessness is a traumatic, isolating, and lonely experience. Union Station Homeless Services helps people end their homelessness with housing, as well as the critical support they need to stay housed for good!
Our Community Allies Program supports and empowers our recently housed neighbors as they build their lives in their new homes. The mission of the program is to help individuals and families combat isolation, retain their housing, and improve their wellness.
This amazing volunteer-driven program has transformed the traditional one-on-one mentor relationship by fostering connection, companionship, and community. The program pairs a volunteer ally with a recently housed adult or family; together, the team up for social outings, recreational activities, and support.
This program is a huge part of the reason that 97% of Union Station’s program participants successfully retain their housing and permanently end their homelessness.
