Each week we put our faith into action and this week we invite you to sign a letter to Governor Newsom urging him to sign the CRISES Act (AB 2054). The act will give California the opportunity to create pilot programs in alternatives to policing for mental health events, non-violent emergencies and other community needs.

This summer’s street protests have called for a reckoning with our long history of racism and the policing systems in our country. As we demand justice for Jacob Blake, Dijon Kizzee, Rayshard Brooks, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and so many others, we are also working to plant the seeds of a new vision for community safety that doesn’t rely on armed police to respond to all emergencies.
