Film critic Kenneth Turan in the Rector’s Forum on Sunday, February 5, 2017:
“I hate to tar things with a broad brush but there really seems to be sexism in the movie business… Everyone has to keep pushing and saying this is wrong.”
Kenneth Turan — our All Saints “Film Critic in Residence” — returned to the Rector’s Forum for his annual look at films in general and the upcoming Oscars in particular.
In addition to having been an acclaimed film critic for the Los Angeles Times since 1971, Turan can be heard on NPR’s Morning Edition and KUSC-FM’s Arts Alive. He also directs the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes. Not only does he help us sort through the films nominated for best picture and the various women and men nominated for acting and directing, he loves answering your questions.
