Just Mercy: The Power of Story to Make Great Change

“Aja Monet says, ‘No great change takes place without art.’ Scott Budnick is using his incredible talent and success as a filmmaker to tell stories that move hearts and minds to dismantle mass incarceration. It makes me dream of how we can use the gifts of art and storytelling in our own community to do the same.” — Mike Kinman

On Sunday May 10 our virtual worship schedule begins at 10:00 a.m. with a Rector’s Forum entitled “Just Mercy: The Power of Story to Make Great Change” with Scott Budnick.

In 2013 Scott left a red-hot film career to start a prisoner-advocacy nonprofit. He recently returned to filmmaking with a vision to pair storytelling with real-world impact with “Just Mercy”– a Warner Brothers film based on the book of world-renowned civil rights defense attorney Bryan Stevenson’s work to free a wrongly condemned death row prisoner. Don’t miss his inspiring story!

From 11 to 11:15 a.m., Kelly Erin O’Phelan leads Children’s Chapel.
Mike Kinman preaches at the 11:15 a.m. English service and at the 1:00 p.m. bilingual Spanish/English service.

At 11:15 a.m. Canterbury Choir and our Minisingers, Mastersingers and Troubadours offer music
At 1:00 p.m. Dan Cole & Ensemble offer music.

Join us at 10 a.m. for the Forum and stay logged on throughout all the services! The Forum and both services will be offered from the this link — which will go live 15 minutes ahead of time, at 9:45 a.m.:
