Sunday, June 4 at 5:00 p.m. in the Church
Canterbury & Coventry Choirs, directed by James Walker, will perform Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, with instrumental ensemble along with music of Gwyneth Walker, Shawn Kirchner, René Clausen, Beethoven and Brahms.
A reception follows celebrating James Walker as he moves into his next chapter as a freelance musician. Weicheng Zhao will give a pre-concert talk from 4:40-4:55 p.m., discussing the Britten and Bernstein pieces.
Child care provided. Suggested donation $10.
Immediately following the concert, we will gather to celebrate James Walker’s remarkable 34-year ministry of music at All Saints and offer our best wishes as he journeys on. Enjoy festive hors d’oeuvres in Sweetland Hall, music on the lawn, and the opportunity to thank James in person for the countless ways his gifts have enriched us. All are welcome: 6:30–8:00 p.m.
