Sarah Nolan

  • Title : Director of Giving, Development and Economic Justice

Sarah is originally from a small town in New Mexico, and spent most of her early adulthood in and around the LA region. Her journey to the Episcopal Church began through the college and young adult ministry at All Saints in the mid-2000s and she has been a faithful Easter Vigil attendee whenever possible (even virtually!).

After a couple of years as intern and communications coordinator at Holy Faith Church in Inglewood, in 2008, she served as a lay chaplain at Cal State Channel Islands and eventually the co-founder and Director of Programs and Community Partnerships at The Abundant Table, an Episcopal rooted nonprofit farm and worshiping community. During this time Sarah was also active in community organizing, cooperative farming experiments, and food justice initiatives around the state.

In 2018, she ventured out to the East Coast and for the past five years has worked in development and communications at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Richmond, VA, a historic downtown church. Sarah is a member of the Episcopal General Convention’s Task Force on Creation Care and Environmental Racism and has served on a number of boards of emerging organizations, providing financial and strategic development support.

Sarah received a dual degree in Theology and Philosophy from Azusa Pacific University, completed a MA in Ministry, Leadership and Service from Claremont School of Theology and holds a certificate of Non-Profit Fund Development from the University of Richmond. She is an avid reader and indoor volleyball player and holds a hobbyist’s passion for engaging in emerging conversations around faith, culture, politics, and the economy.
