The All Saints Writers Group brings writers from different walks of life together to discuss their pieces in a workshop-style setting. Writers are able to give feedback and hear suggestions in any genre they choose (memoir, creative nonfiction, poetry, etc.). This builds a sense of community, and helps the writers to become more confident in their work. It teaches them how to give and receive constructive criticism, enabling them to learn from one another’s mistakes, letting them appreciate the value of a fresh opinion.
The Writers Group is far from a workshop, however. Before it is anything else, it is a ministry. We prize the writer more than we prize the writing, and all feedback must be delivered with that idea in mind. More important than words on a page is the core value that we are the beloved community – all of us – and that the greatest stories we write are the stories we share with our lives.
Be assured: whoever you are, whatever you write, there is a place for you here!
