“Every year there are about a hundred pieces of anti-LGBT legislation introduced in some states. Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, some of the southern states — and these pieces of legislation create stigma, they reduce opportunity, they harm children. That’s what really kills me — in places like Texas they went after trans kids. Who does that? It’s horrible. But that’s what our fight looks like these days.”
