Facilities Planning Guiding Ideals

• Welcoming.  Reflect our ASC foundational goal of being welcoming and inclusive.
• Supporting.  Reflect our ASC foundational goal of supporting staff.
• Inspiring.  Reflect our ASC foundational goal of inspiring community, action, and connection.
• Visioning.  Reflect our ASC foundational goal of a clear and sustainable vision for future generations.

Facilities Planning Criteria

• Flexibility and Loose Fit.  Plan flexible facilities suitable for multiple uses and future changes in needs. Size the initial facilities based on current needs, with room for adjustment.
• Funding.  Make sure our facilities planning can be funded sustainably – including future maintenance costs.
• Phasing.  Plan project phases to have minimal disruption of daily operations – blending deferred maintenance and facility upgrades as cost-effectively as possible.
• Enthusiasm.  Plan facilities that generate enthusiasm and excitement from the parish and community for completing the planned improvements.
• Campus Refresh.  Incorporate deferred maintenance into the planning and sequencing of new facilities or upgrades.
• Facilities Stewardship.  Specifically consider the heritage and future of our church and emphasize options that protect and maintain the elements of our campus that are essential to that heritage and the future.  
• Adjacency.  Locate groups, departments and staff with similar functions or interests near each other to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
• Accessibility.  Prioritize plans for a barrier-free facility that makes our campus accessible to everyone with different physical needs.
• Inclusivity.  Prioritize plans that express the All Saints value of inclusivity.
• Environmental Stewardship.  Make our campus consistent with our commitment to conservation and sustainable practices.
• Safety.  Prioritize mitigation of seismic and other safety hazards.
• Approvability.  Choose design paths that streamline the City design approval process.
• “Doing it!”  Plan for early benefits that help create confidence and support.
