Philadelphia Eleven Sunday at All Saints on July 30

The Episcopal Church will mark the forty-ninth anniversary of the stained-glass ceiling shattering ordinations of the Philadelphia Eleven — the first women ordained to the priesthood — on July 29, 2023. In preparation for that anniversary, liturgical resources have been created for commemorations of that historic moment in our church and in celebration of those who helped us take that one important step closer to becoming Beloved Community.

By marking this 49th anniversary with a local commemoration, All Saints joins congregations around the Church in a movement to officially add the Philadelphia Eleven to the Episcopal Church’s Liturgical Calendar in 2024 as we reach the 50th anniversary.

Join us on Sunday, July 30 at 7:30 a.m. in the chapel or 10:00 a.m. in the church for what promises to be a very special Sunday of celebration and reflection. Susan Russell will preach. Wilma Jakobsen will preside.
