Post-Election Contemplative Eucharist

Sunday, November 13

On the Sunday after Election Day we will gather at 5:00 p.m. for a Contemplative Eucharist with special intentions for hope and healing for our nation. The meditative rhythm of choral and instrumental music combined with the silence and the beauty of the church architecture will offer balm for our polarization and polemic weary souls.  The homily is an instrumental piece and the prayers are said silently — with the invitation to light a candle at the altar rail or transept as outward and visible signs of the light we are called to shine in the world.

Mike Kinman presides. Coventry Choir offers music of Nick Strimple and the premiere of Bruce Babcock’s Lord, It Is Night. Daniel Ramon and James Walker play music for flute and piano by Fauré and Poulenc.

Plan now to give yourself this gift of time for contemplation, reflection, renewal and recommitment to the work of being beacons of God’s love, justice and compassion.

Sunday, November 13, 5:00 p.m. in the church.
Child care is available.
