Spotlight on Gaza: Laurie Brand in the Forum May 27

The recent “March of Return” in Gaza has led to the death of tens and wounding of thousands of Palestinians by the Israeli Army. What are the origins of this March and how does the situation in Gaza relate to the larger Palestinian-Israeli conflict? Prof. Laurie Brand of USC will join us for “Spotlight on Gaza” in the Rector’s Forum on Sunday, May 27, at 10:15 a.m. to provide the broader historical and political context to the situation in Gaza today. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from one of the nation’s leading experts on the Middle East.

Laurie A. Brand is the Robert Grandford Wright Professor of International Relations and Middle East Studies at the University of Southern California, where she directed the Center for International Studies from 1997-2000, served as Director of the School of International Relations from 2006-2009, and headed its Middle East Studies program  from 2014-2017.
