Stories from the Undocumented in Our Community

Sunday, January 8 | 10:15 a.m.

“You are my Own, chosen and marked by my love, delight of my life.” Words that sweep us off our feet. Words our hearts long to hear. Words of adoration and joy. This Sunday, we hear God saying these words to Jesus in his baptism and we realize these words from God are for us, too. Each of us. All of us. The voice of God’s Spirit reminds us that no matter how unworthy we might consider ourselves, God delights in us. The voice of God’s Spirit reminds us that no matter how rejected or persecuted a person is, God delights in them.

Join us this Sunday, January 8th in the Rector’s Forum at 10:15 a.m. as we launch 2017 with “Stories from the Undocumented in Our Community” and welcome beloved images of God who are also undocumented Pasadena residents who refuse to stay in the shadows and instead choose to be unafraid and share their stories of hope and concern.

We will also hear from the National Day Laborer Network and leader Pablo Alvarado — striving to make our community safe for all and to protect the most vulnerable. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear these important stories and learn how we can stand with our undocumented neighbors as part of the sanctuary movement — how we can turn to those among us who are being targeted and repeat God’s words, “You are God’s own, chosen and marked by God’s love, delight of God’s life.”

If you can’t be with us in person, join our growing live stream community here.
