This is another passage from the letter of Paul to the Romans where the Apostle Paul is ready to share the great news that the wait is over, that the prophecies were meeting their fulfillment, and that the longest and darkest night that humanity had been living on was about to end.
Este es otro verso de la carta de Pablo a los Romanos donde el apóstol Pablo está listo para compartir la gran noticia de que la espera ha terminado, que las profecías se están hacienda realidad, y que la noche más larga y oscura en la que la humanidad había estado viviendo estaba a punto de terinar.
O holy night the stars are brightly shining

This morning we begin a tradition that has been part of humanity for almost two thousand years, the Mass of Christ, known in short as “Christmas.”
Esta mañana comenzamos una tradición que ha sido parte de la humanidad durante casi 2.000 años, la Misa de Cristo, conocida en breve como Navidad por su nombre en Inglés.
Every single year, Christians from all over the world get together to celebrate the birth of our brother, savior, and leader, Jesus. This is a day where we are also invited to reflect upon our faith, and to experience a conversion of heart reaffirmed in our love for the one who loved us so much to the point of death.
Cada año, cristianos de todo el mundo se reúnen para celebrar el nacimiento de nuestro hermano, Salvador y líder, Jesús. Este es un día en el que también se nos invita a reflexionar sobre nuestra fe y experimentar una conversión de Corazón reafirmada en nuestro amor por aquel nos amó tanto hasta el punto de morir.
Contrary to what several theologians believe, that Christ came to the world because the world was so depraved that God needed to send Jesus, I align more with the theologians that consider that the coming of Jesus had always been part of the whole picture of creation.
Contrariamente a lo que muchos teólogos creen, que Cristo vino al mundo porque el mundo estaba tan depravado que Dios necesitaba enviar a Jesús, yo me identifico más con los teólogos que consideran que la venida de Jesús siempre ha sido parte del plan completo de la creación.
God’s gift of Jesus to us is a manifestation of God’s love for God’s creation, and nothing, nothing can separate us from the love of God, “neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, not anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
38El regalo de Dios para nosotros en Jesús es una manifestación del amor de Dios por la creación de Dios, y nada, nada pueda separarnos del amor de Dios, ni la muerte, ni la vida, ni los ángeles, ni los poderes y fuerzas espirituales, ni lo presente, ni lo futuro, 39ni lo más alto, ni lo más profundo, ni ninguana otra de las cosas creadas por Dios. ¡Nada podrá separarnos dell amor que Dios nos ha mostrado en Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor!
The God in the highest is a God with a story that takes place here among us, on earth, in our human sphere. Our God is a God making community among us, and God’s highness still descends in the presence of Jesus.
El Dios en las Alturas es un Dios con una historia que tiene lugar aquí entre nosotros, en la tierra, en nuestra esfera humana; nuestro Dios es un Dios que hace comunidad entre nosotros, y que en su grandeza aún desciende en la presencia de Jesús.

Dios decidió convertirse en uno de nosotros a través de una pareja que en la actualidad puede representar más una pareja de refugiados de Siria y Myanmar que a los actores que crecimos viendo en las películas sobre la navidad.
And in doing so, God is showing to us that God is humble,
Y al hacerlo, Dios nos está mostrando que Dios es humilde,
That God is real,
Que Dios es real,
and that God is closer to us than what we might have been taught to believe.
Y que Dios está más cerca de nosotros que lo que nosh an enseñado a creer.
Today I encourage us to reflect about what it means to live in a world as Christians, as people who trust in the God who has accepted us in Christ, not because of our merits, but because of God’s love.
Hoy los invito a reflexionar sobre lo que significa vivir en un mundo como cristianos, como personas que confían en el Dios que no ha aceptado en Cristo, no por nuestros méritos, sino por el amor que tiene por nosotros.
I believe that a Christian life is a life of freedom:
Creo que una vida Cristiana es una vida de libertad:
freedom from alienation / libertad de estar aislados,
freedom from judgment / libertad de ser juzgados,
freedom from sin / libertad del pecado,
freedom from the human law / libertad de la ley humana,
and freedom from death and the powers that separate us from God. Y libertad de la muerte y los posers que nos separan de Dios.
We are called to live a life as a community that, through Jesus, has been liberated from the threats that destroy life.
Estamos llamados a vivir una vida como una comunidad que, a través de Jesús, ha sido liberada de las amenazas que destruyen la vida.
In practical ways, and renewed in Christ, I hope that today we leave committed to continue trying to live a life not measured by worldly standards of power and privilege, but discerning what is God’s will for each of us, and utilizing the unique gifts that God has given to each of us to make present the “body” of Christ here on earth.
De manera práctica, espero que, renovados en Cristo, nos vayamos hoy comprometidos a continuar tratando de vivir una vida que no sea medida por los estándares mundanos de poder y privilegio, sino discerniendo cuál es la voluntad de Dios para cada uno de nosotros, y utilizando los dones únicos que Dios nos ha dado a cada uno de nosotros para hacer presente el “cuerpo” de Cristo aquí en la tierra.
Today, I hope that, renewed in Christ, we commit to show to the world the marks of a true Christian life, at the center of which is one of the main commandments that Christ gave us, to love one another as he has loved us.
Hoy, espero que renovados en Cristo, nos comprometamos a mostrar al mundo las marcas de una verdadera vida Cristiana, en el centro de la cua está uno de los principals mandamietos que Cristo nos dio, amarnos unos a otros como él nos ha amado.
Today, renewed in Christ, I encourage all of us to manifest this love by being genuine,
Hoy, renovados en Cristo, los invito a todos a manifestar este amor siendo genuinos,
by blessing those who persecute us,
Bendiciendo a los que nos persiguen,
by living in peace with all,
viviendo en paz con todos,
by never taking revenge in our own hands,
nunca tomando venganza en nuestras propias manos,
by feeding the enemies when they are hungry, and praying for the when they are in need,
alimentando a los enemigos cuando tienen hambre y orndo por ellos cuando lo necesitn,
by not judging one another, but instead embracing our differences,
sin juzgarnos unos a otros, sino aceptando nuestras diferencias,
and by supporting one another because we are also a gift of God to each other, and we are not meant to walk this path of life alone.
y apoyándonos unos a otros prque tanbién somos un regalo de Dios para los demás, y no estamos destinados a caminar sólos en este camino de la vida.
Truu He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains He shall break
For the slave is our brother
And in His Name, all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy, in grateful chorus raise
We let all within us praise His holy Name
God know that even in our better days we may fall short in living a true Christian life, and still, God loves us exactly the way we are, God forgives us constantly, and God is always willing to give us a kiss of love in the same way that God kissed the world when Jesus Christ was born.
Dios sabe que incluso en nuestros mejores dias podemos quedarnos cortos en vivir una verdadera vida chistiana, y aún así, Dios nos ama esactamente como somos, Dios nos perdona constantemente, y Dios siempre está dispuesto a darnos un beso de amore n la misma manera que besó al mundo cuando nació Jesucristo.

Let us leave today trusting in what God has done for us through Jesus, reconciled with a God that loves s beyond our imagination, and committed to a true Christian way of living.
Salgamos hoy confiando en lo que Dios ha hecho por nosotros a través de Jesús, reconciliandos con un Dios que nos ama más allá de nuestra imaginación y comprometidos a vivir una vida Cristiana verdadera.
