This Sunday at All Saints: All Saints Sunday, November 4

All Saints Sunday, November 4, is our parish feast day. It is a day to celebrate all the saints — known and unknown. Those whom we have loved but see no longer; those whom we proclaim each time we gather around the table with us singing as “angels and archangels and all the company of heaven.” On All Saints Day, our very name as a community reminds us that we are always in communion, always in the presence of ancestors unseen but not unfelt. Their voices still speak, if we have the ears to hear. Their ancient wisdom is still there, if we will let it re-emerge from our hearts.

It is also the day we honor those who have died within the past year. At all services our memorial book, containing names raised up by the community will be placed on the altar. At 9 & 11:15 a.m. Coventry Choir and Chamber Orchestra will offer Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Composed in Vienna in 1791 and left unfinished at the composer’s death, Requiem was completed the next year by Franz Xaver Süssmayr. It stands as one of the great monuments of faith expressed in music. Dan Cole and the 1pm Ensemble offer music at 1:00 p.m.

Mike Kinman will preach at 7:30, 9:00 and 11:15 a.m.  and at the 1:00 p.m. Spanish/English bilingual Service.

NOTE: Incense will be used during the 9:00, 11:15 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. services. At 9:00 & 11:15 a.m. there will be an “Incense-Free” zone in the Small Lounge.

At 9:00 a.m. Family Eucharist in Learning Center. We will have a time of remembrance and celebration.

Live-stream the 11:15 service here.

During the 10:15 a.m. Hour:

Labyrinth: Practice contemplative prayer by walking a replica of the labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral in France, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. in the Forum.

Adult Education will resume on Sunday, November 11.

At 4:00 p.m.:
The Table — Gather | Engage | Grow: The Bible — Where’s the Power: Do I Have Any? (Sweetland Hall)
At The Table we gather together as a parish body to engage both new ideas and each other in order to grow in understanding of our community, ourselves, and our faith. The fall session will focus on understanding the basic shape of the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament. This week will delve into grace, unconditional love, and how this drives our work and community forward. Leader: Daniella Baker.

At 5:00 p.m.:
