This Sunday at All Saints: August 18, 2024

On Sunday, August 18, our new Priest-in-Charge the Rev. Tim Rich preaches at both 7:30 and 10:00 a.m. At 10:00 a.m., Summer Choir offers My Eyes for Beauty Pine by Howells.

ASL interpretation at the 10:00 service.

At 9:00 a.m. in the Forum, Meet Our New Priest-in-Charge! Join us in the Forum as we welcome the Reverend Tim Rich to All Saints as our Priest-in-Charge. Arriving in Los Angeles the summer of 2024, Tim comes to All Saints after serving as the rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Prior to his time at St. Luke’s, Tim was the Canon to the Ordinary for the Rt. Rev’d. V. Gene Robinson, the 9th Bishop of New Hampshire. In his thirty plus years of ordained ministry, Tim has served on a wide variety of diocesan bodies, including the Commission on Ministry, the Congregational Development Committee, and Diocesan Council. He also was a contributor and national faculty member for Fresh Start, a church-wide program designed to support clergy and congregations in transition. This is a time of great possibility in the life of All Saints, and we look forward to Tim’s spiritual leadership as we move into our future journey with care and courage.

Come one, come all and join us for Children’s Chapel during the 10:00 a.m. service, where children will experience music, arts and crafts, meditations, storytelling, wiggly fun, spiritual practices for kids and so much more! Every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. on Zoom — Reclaiming the Bible
This is “bible study” with a difference. Our goal will be to heal and move beyond the misunderstanding, confusion, hurtful interpretation, oppression, and other ways our bible has been used against us. Jesus is the Word of God, and God’s Word is one of love, hope, and reconciliation. This is the bible we’ll strive together to come home to in this small group study. Facilitated by Dr. Charles Foster. Contact Dr. Foster at drcharlesfoster@icloud.com for Zoom access.

5:00 p.m. in the Church — Evening Service of Reflection and Meditation. Join us for a Meditative Evening Prayer Service, sponsored by the LGBTQ+ Ministry. This offering is dedicated to acknowledging the pain and injustices faced by the LGBTQ+ community, particularly the transgender community, in the current political climate. As we gather in solidarity, we affirm our commitment to overcoming all forms of violence and bigotry, standing together to support transgender youth who are especially vulnerable. ALL ARE WELCOME to pray, reflect, and find strength in our shared resolve for a more just and loving world.

Streaming at 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. (and for other streamed services and events) is offered on our website’s live stream pageour Facebook page and our YouTube channel. Check out our live streaming page to download service leaflets and take part in our action of the week.

For in-person worship, our guiding principle remains to follow common sense risk reduction guidance for as long as we remain in a declared public health pandemic, so to keep our community safe and well, our in-person worship guidelines include:

  • (as of 1/30/23) Because Los Angeles County, including Pasadena, currently have low levels of COVID-19, masks are recommended, but not required, for everyone indoors.
  • Masks are optional outdoors.
  • Both outdoor and indoor seating is available for services and communion will be served in both locations.
  • Our expectation is that those entering the church will be vaccinated (if vaccination is available to them)
  • Those who choose to be unvaccinated are requested to participate online.
  • Those seated indoors are asked to maintain social distance between individuals/households.
  • If we reach seating capacity in the church, ushers will guide you to alternative seating areas.
  • We ask you not enter if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever over 100.4°F or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, or if you have had contact in the last 14 days with someone diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID- 19.
