Yolanda Norton will speak in the Forum. Ordained in the Disciples of Christ tradition, Rev. Norton is an assistant professor at San Francisco Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. candidate in Hebrew Bible and Ancient Israel and Theology and Practice Fellow at Vanderbilt University. Her current research interests include womanist interpretation, narrative and literary criticism, and the Persian period. The Beyoncé Mass (learn more here), performed this year at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral, lifted up the voices and lives of black women while drawing on Beyoncé’s music — and grew out of Rev. Norton’s class on “Beyoncé and the Hebrew Bible.”
Jeremy Langill continues a four-part series exploring the ancient roots of Christian faith, and how those beginnings influenced the life and ministry of Jesus and the ideas about God that we’ve inherited today. Ancient Reflections: Jesus, Prophet to the Poor. In the Guild Room.

- On Sunday mornings, please note that the entire south-side of the North Parking Lot (just north of the church on the corner of Euclid Ave. & Walnut St.) is reserved for people with mobility difficulties.
For regular parking, follow ASC Parking signs to Plaza Las Fuentes (garage entrance on Union) or the Kaiser Parking Structure (on the northeast corner of Euclid Ave. and Walnut).
