This Sunday at All Saints Church: Advent Three – Dec 13

This Sunday, December 13 at All Saints Church we celebrate the Third Sunday of Advent — lighting the candle of Joy. Join us for a virtual Sunday celebration beginning at 10:00 a.m. with our Virtual Alternative Christmas Market.  Sally Howard preaches at 11:15 a.m. and Alfredo Feregrino preaches at the1:00 p.m. Our Lady of Guadalupe service.

https://allsaints-pas.org/live-stream/ is the link for everything. (The link goes live at 9:45 a.m. and includes the 11:00 a.m. Children’s Chapel, the 11:15 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. services and will be back live at 4:45 p.m for the 5:00 p.m. service.)

We will be live-streaming from the beautiful interior of All Saints Church. Ministers of the liturgy will be observing the social distance and safety protocols dictated by health care professionals and in compliance with our diocesan guidelines. And while we all long for the time when we can safely return for in person congregational worship, being able to center our online service in our familiar and beloved sanctuary is one step toward that eventual goal.

10:00-11:00 a.m. – Rector’s Forum Alternative Christmas Market
Leah Nelson, ACM Co-Chair says, “The pandemic has changed our lives, but the Alternative Christmas Market provides us with the opportunity to capture the true meaning of Christmas, allowing each of us to truly impact those who are most in need.” The list of participants is a who’s who of local, national and international organizations—including Homeboy Industries, Five Acres, Get on the Bus, and Ten Thousand Villages, just to name a few. A Zoom link will be provided on the Live Stream page to actively shop at our Alternative Christmas Market.

11:00-11:15 a.m. – Chapel Time (two options)

Children’s Chapel – Kelly Erin O’Phelan invites everyone to light a candle and enjoy a story and a craft.

Meditative Chapel – This chapel time aims to be a liminal space between the hustle of life and household and a more tranquil, worshipful mindset. We’ll have a reading and a moment of meditation, you’ll just need yourself and a candle if you have one. Here is the link for the Meditative Chapel

11:15 a.m. Service – Sally Howard preaches. Canterbury & Coventry Choirs with guest families offer The Joy of Longing Hearts by Wesley, arr. by McDonald. The beginning ukukele class offers She’s Got the Whole World in Her Hands.

1:00 p.m. Our Lady of Guadalupe Service – We celebrate the feast day of the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe — the patron saint of the Americas — with a festive service full of candles and roses. Alfredo Feregrino offers a meditation; Dan Cole & Ensemble offer music. This is a bilingual Spanish/English service.

And then return at 5:00 p.m. for our Advent III Evening Service – Trouvères, Vox Cambiata and Youth Chamber Choir offer music of Hella Johnson, directed by Jenny Tisi. Nina Scherer offers a meditation.
