Sunday, November 8 is a Zoom Sunday (and yes, we’re working on live-streaming weekly from the church but we’re not QUITE there yet … stay tuned!) The link for everything is https://zoom.us/j/817796514 and goes live at 9:45 a.m. It includes the Rector’s Forum, Children’s Chapel, the 11:15 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. services.
10:00 – 10:50 a.m. – Rector’s Forum: What Next? – with Kim Jackson, Alan Yarborough and Lisa Gasperoni
As we digest (or perhaps still await) the results of the 2020 election, Mike Kinman wil be joined by an amazing panel to dig deeper into the “what next” questions at this momentous time in our nation’s history.
The Reverend Kim Jackson is an Episcopal priest who was elected the first LGBTQ State Senator in Georgia in this week’s historic election with 79% of the vote. Jackson, who was the first out person of color to be ordained as an Episcopal priest in Atlanta, ran on a platform which included fighting for a comprehensive anti-discrimination bill.
Alan Yarborough is the church relations officer with The Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations, where he helps manage their grassroots advocacy engagement and develops resources aimed at educating and equipping the church in policy advocacy.
Lisa Gasperoni is the owner of LG Campaigns, a firm that provides strategic advice and general political consulting services. Gasperoni has been involved with more than 200 campaigns––ranging from statewide constitutional officers to Congressional, State Senate, Assembly, Mayoral, Supervisorial and City Council as well as local and statewide ballot measures and independent expenditure campaigns.
11:00-11:15 a.m. – Chapel Time (two options)
Children’s Chapel – Kelly Erin O’Phelan invites everyone to light a candle and enjoy a story and a craft.
Meditative Chapel – This chapel time aims to be a liminal space between the hustle of life and household and a more tranquil, worshipful mindset. We’ll have a reading and a moment of meditation, you’ll just need yourself and a candle if you have one. Link will be provided on Sunday morning.
11:15 a.m. Service – Mike Kinman preaches. Coventry Choirs soloists offer Soon Ah Will Be Done by Dawson; Minisingers, Mastersingers, Troubadors and Trouvères offer All You Need is Love by Lennon and McCartney.
1:00 p.m. Bilingual Spanish/English Service – Alfredo Feregrino preaches. Dan Cole & ensemble and Trouvères offer music.
