This coming Sunday, January 21, at All Saints we continue our Epiphany Preaching Series: “A Season of Wisdom & Revelation with three extraordinary women in the pulpit.

At 7:30 a.m., the preacher is our own May Choi.

Kelly Brown Douglas will preach at the 9:00 and 11:15 a.m. services with Coventry Choir offering Breathe in Hope by Trumbore and Rise Up, My Love by Willan.

Rocío Peña will preach at the 1:00 p.m. Spanish language service — with music by Dan Cole and the 1 PM Ensemble.

** Street Closures ** On Sunday morning, there will some street closures due to the Pasadena Half-Marathon. Check out their website here to see if your commute to church will be impacted.

At 5:00 p.m., on the Chancel, join us for a Jazz Vespers with Russell Ferrante.
All Saints parishioner and founding member of the YellowJackets, Russell Ferrante offers music. Russ will be joined by Steve Schaeffer on drums, and Michael Valerio on bass. Russ has performed with Jimmy Witherspoon, Jim Pepper, Joe Farrell, Joni Mitchell, Bobby McFerrin, Robben Ford, Al Jarreau, Marilyn Scott, Kevyn Lettau, Ernie Watts, Sadao Watanabe, GRP, Big Band, Lee Ritenour, Tom Scott, Take 6, Michael Franks, Eric Marienthal, and Brenda Russell. The Rev. Dr. Kelly Brown Douglas is the Susan D. Morgan Distinguished Professor of Religion at Goucher College in Baltimore and is the Canon Theologian at the National Cathedral. Kelly is considered a leader in the field of womanist theology, racial reconciliation and sexuality and the black church. She is a frequent host of the Cathedral’s Second Sundays forum on faith in public life. She holds degrees from Denison University and obtained her Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary. Essence magazine counts Douglas “among this country’s most distinguished religious thinkers, teachers, ministers, and counselors.” She has published numerous essays and articles in national publications. Her books Sexuality and the Black Church and Stand Your Ground: Black Bodies and the Justice of God will be available for purchase. Forum.

Children’s Chapel in the Learning Center (9:00 and 11:15 a.m.) Children K–5th grade join their families in church at the beginning services, then follow the banner out for Children’s Chapel before the sermon, returning for communion. Parents are always welcome to join us in Children’s Chapel.

Parking on Sundays Sunday parking at Plaza Las Fuentes (Westin Hotel) is only validated until 1:00 p.m. — after which parking fees accrue. If you are attending the 1:00 p.m. Spanish Language/Bilingual Service or staying for an afternoon event, please park at the Kaiser parking structure, north of the church on the northeast corner of Euclid Ave. and Walnut, where the parking is free.
