Rector’s Forum: 2020 Vision – Seeing the Future of Church and World
with The Rt. Rev. Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows
We are walking with a revolutionary Jesus into a future that will be very different than the past.  Climate change. Huge demographic shifts. Automation. Re-segregation. Income, education and opportunity inequality. These challenges are great opportunities to be a beacon for mission and ministry in the years to come.  Bishop Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows, the first African-American woman elected diocesan bishop and one of the most creative thinkers in the Episcopal Church, joins us for a conversation about church today and tomorrow.
Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows, a native of New York City, holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture with a minor in urban studies from Smith College, an M.A. in historic preservation planning from Cornell University, and an M.Div. degree from Church Divinity School of the Pacific. She is the first black woman to be elected a diocesan bishop in the Episcopal Church. Bishop Jennifer’s expertise includes historic preservation of religious buildings, stewardship and development, race and class reconciliation, and spiritual direction. A defining experience of her ministry came when she found herself near the World Trade Center the morning of September 11, 2001. In the midst of a fearful situation, her own faith and that of others who sought shelter alongside her gave her a renewed perspective of faith vanquishing fear. “The Episcopal Church teaches me that the world is filled with incredible beauty and unspeakable pain and that God is deeply in the midst of it all loving us fiercely,” she says.

The Circle of Life: Issues of Aging Parents
Sunday, Jan. 26, 2:30– 4:00 p.m., in the Learning Center. Many of us face the joys and challenges of having aging parents. In this circle of life, roles often change and losses occur, both great and small. Sally Howard and others will offer a time for those of us facing the issues of aging parents to gather together. The meeting will allow us to share our experiences in this on-going group of support, exchange of information, and education. In the circle of life that we all move through, let’s find our way together. Information = Ana Camacho at 626.583.2737 or acamacho@allsaints-pas.org.
