This Sunday at All Saints: January 5

On this second Sunday after Christmas, January 5th — Healing SundayMike Kinman will preach at the 7:30, 9:00 & 11:15 a.m. Healing Eucharists. Alfredo Feregrino preaches at the 1:00 p.m. bilingual Spanish/English service for its Visitation of Melchior, Gaspar and Balthasar.

At 9:00 & 11:15 a.m. Elizabeth Tatum cantors. At 1:00 p.m. Dan Cole & Ensemble offer music.

At the 9:00 & 11:15 a.m. Services of Healing and Eucharist you are invited to come forward and experience the laying on of hands – an ancient tradition in the church and a powerful experience. As we begin the year, it can be a way to let go of the past, whatever it has been, and to walk with trust into the future. Also during the service, prayer shawls knitted and crocheted by members of our community will be presented and blessed.

Melchior, Gaspar and Balthasar will also be present at the bilingual monthly Convivio following the 1:00 p.m. service — organized by the Latino/Hispanic Ministry to celebrate one of the most deeply rooted traditions in the Latino culture, reliving the arrival of the three sages to adore the baby Jesus. There will be surprise gifts for children, donated by the Pasadena Fire Department.

Walk the Labyrinth in Sweetland Hall from 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. The Labyrinth is an ancient spiritual tool—its path winds throughout a circle and becomes a mirror of the way we live our lives. It touches our sorrows and releases our joys. What better way to begin the New Year?

The 10:15 Adult Education hour will resume next Sunday, January 12.

At 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel:
Taizé Eucharist around the Cross. Join us for beautiful meditative prayers, song, scripture, silence and community — and walk the labyrinth during or after the service. Wilma Jakobsen presides.

Live-stream the 11:15 a.m. service on January 5th here.

Parking on Sundays:

  • On Sunday mornings, please note that the entire south-side of the North Parking Lot (just north of the church on the corner of Euclid Ave. & Walnut St.) is reserved for people with mobility difficulties.

For regular parking, follow ASC Parking signs to Plaza Las Fuentes (garage entrance on Union) or the Kaiser Parking Structure (on the northeast corner of Euclid Ave. and Walnut). Sunday parking at Plaza Las Fuentes is only validated until 1:00 p.m. — after which parking fees accrue. If you’re staying later, please park in the Kaiser Parking Structure, which is free and open until 4:00 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: On Sundays, All Saints Church can be a very busy place. It is a good idea to plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the service in order to have ample time to park and make your way to the church.
