In Sweetland Hall: Is Sin a Concept Worth Saving? with Dr. Brian Robinson. (Part Two of Two)
In the Judeo-Christian tradition, the concept of sin has served to distinguish what is and what is not permissible. Although many religions have similar mechanisms, Christianity’s use of sin has a problematic history, often reinforcing social and cultural norms that harm already marginalized groups. With such a problematic past, how, if at all, should we engage or use the concept of sin? This second session will examine Martin Luther King, Jr.’s transformation of the concept of sin in Letter from a Birmingham Jail and open up for discussion about whether, if at all, the concept of sin should continue to be a part of our religious experience. Join us for a sin-sational conversation!
In the Seminar Room: The Practice of Listening (Part Three of Three)
Join members of our Leadership Support & Development Committee for “Listening With a Mindful Presence ” — part three of a three part series.
