This Sunday at All Saints: Juneteenth, June 19

On June 19, 2022 All Saints Church celebrates the Juneteeth
Three services at 7:30, 9:00 and 11:30 a.m. – both in person and online. Mark Chase preaches at the 7:30 a.m. service in the chapel. At 9:00 & 11:30 a.m. we are delighted to welcome the Rev. Dr. Bryson White to the All Saints pulpit. Dr. White considers himself an interdisciplinary theologian whose work explores the intersections of protestant eschatologies as racial formation, anti-black racism, and the construction of the carceral state, and the work of cultural icon Tupac Amaru Shakur. Furthermore, White has an extensive background in community organizing, working with the faith based community organizing network Faith In the Valley in California’s San Joaquin Valley to create a more equitable region for what Howard Thurman aptly describes as having their “backs against the wall.” Canterbury Choir offers I’ll Never Turn Back No More with soloist Michal Connor.

At 10:15 a.m. a very special Forum
Rest to Receive: A Juneteenth Mindful Moment Rooted in Restoration will be led by Mackenzie Edwards. It will be a time for us to get some rest in real time through mindfulness meditation, and a time of questions and answers. Mackenzie is a sacred space holder. As a spiritual wellness educator and leader, she facilitates and guides others through Yoga Nidra, breath work, meditation, inner voice coaching, Restorative and Yin Yoga, and every day mindfulness practices. With a Masters degree in Theology and the Arts, over 500 hours of meditation and yoga teacher trainings, and 20 years practicing yoga and mindfulness she brings all of this knowledge and experience to each of her sessions. Through multiple healing modalities she offers guidance to others to connect back to the wholeness of who they are. As a Black woman her main goal in her classes, and Wellness Workshops are for her students to transition from a mind and body mentality of merely surviving, to thriving, healing, resting, and receiving.

Also at 10:15 a.m. Children’s Minister Ben Boquist will preside over Family Hour  — offering music, art & fun in the Learning Center.

For in-person worship, our guiding principle remains to follow common sense risk reduction guidance for as long as we remain in a declared public health pandemic, so to keep our community safe and well, our in-person worship guidelines include:

  • Medical-grade Masks are required at all times indoors on the All Saints campus.
  • Masks are optional outdoors.
  • Both outdoor and indoor seating is available for services and communion will be served in both locations.
  • Our expectation is that those entering the church will be vaccinated (if vaccination is available to them) and we require that masks be worn by all to protect the most vulnerable.
  • Those who choose to be unvaccinated are requested to participate online.
  • Those seated indoors are asked to maintain social distance between individuals/households.
  • If we reach seating capacity in the church, ushers will guide you to alternative seating areas.
  • We ask you not enter if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever over 100.4°F or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, or if you have had contact in the last 14 days with someone diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID-19.
