UPDATE – TO THOSE IMPACTED BY THE FIRE: PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW TO CONTACT YOU
In our efforts to make contact with those impacted by the fire, we are finding many of the phone numbers to no longer be in service. To those of you for whom this is the case, please forward to us the best phone number where we may contact you. All Saints’ front desk is (626) 796-1172.
If you or someone you love is in need of comfort during this difficult time, prayer shawls are available in the church main office. These shawls are a tangible expression of care and prayer, lovingly made to bring warmth and peace in moments of hardship. Please feel free to stop by and take one for yourself or a neighbor in need.

Faith, Formation & Fellowship: Sitting In The Ashes
9:00 a.m. in the Guild Room. Led by Beth Houskamp and Susan Brown. It’s true—we are a “Resurrection People.” Before we can move toward light, however, we need to sit, in community and in deep love, in the ashes of what has been and to acknowledge and name our loss. What has been torn away from us, burned by fire, smashed by the cruelty of others, even withered away by our own neglect, can be honored in deep connection with those around us. In honoring what is ash and naming the threat coming from those who demonize and trifle with our lives and those of our siblings, we can find the Love that dwells in all of life. And Love helps us find a path to the alchemy of transformation and ways to take action.
(Beth M. Houskamp, Ph.D. began attending All Saints Church as a graduate student in 1984. She spent her career as a Professor of Clinical Psychology at several doctoral training programs in Southern California. She is now retired from academia and has been a member of Canterbury Choir for over 10 years as well as a member of the Taize ministry. Transformational Journey: Compline Service at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral
8:00 p.m. at 514 W. Adams Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90007. Please meet at the Cathedral (free parking on-site). Transformational Journeys returns in 2025 with a visit to the Compline service at St. John’s Cathedral. Compline is among the most ancient services of the Christian tradition. It was originally designed in the 6th century to prepare monks to transition from work to sleep at the end of the day. So, how can a 6th century monastic service speak to our frenzied 21st century lives? Through candlelight. Through prayer. Through stillness. Through song. Those who are interested may arrive early to enjoy a meal at any of the nearby restaurants. Please arrive early enough to tour and enjoy the beauty of the Cathedral before the service, which begins at 8:00 pm and lasts about 30 minutes. The Cathedral hosts a time of food and fellowship immediately following the service. If you have questions or would like to discuss ridesharing, contact Dan McCarrel at djmccarrel@gmail.com or 626-755-4060.
Streaming at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (and for other streamed services and events) is offered on our website’s live stream page, our Facebook page and our YouTube channel. Check out our live streaming page to download service leaflets and take part in our action of the week.
