On January 21st Bishop Mariann Budde preached a sermon in our National Cathedral which is still preaching as we move together into this challenging time of dramatic change. The call to be beacons of God’s love, justice and compassion in these moments call for the kind of bravery Bishop Budde brought to the pulpit that day. Let’s learn more from her how to be brave together. Join Susan Russell for an introduction to Bishop Budde’s bestselling book “How We Learn to Be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith.”

Every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. on Zoom — Reclaiming the Bible
This is “bible study” with a difference. Our goal will be to heal and move beyond the misunderstanding, confusion, hurtful interpretation, oppression, and other ways our bible has been used against us. Jesus is the Word of God, and God’s Word is one of love, hope, and reconciliation. This is the bible we’ll strive together to come home to in this small group study. Facilitated by Dr. Charles Foster. Contact Dr. Foster at drcharlesfoster@icloud.com for Zoom access.

Jazz Vespers: LA Jazz Quartet
5:00 p.m. on the Chancel.
The Los Angeles Jazz Quartet, active since 1994, is an L.A. based group made up of four musicians who share a similar vision of acoustic jazz in the new millennium: Chuck Manning, Larry Koonse, Darek Oles & Jason Harnell. While definitely influenced by the sound, style and sensibilities of the classic jazz of the 1950’s and 60’s, the L.A. Jazz Quartet provides a fresh perspective in the context of the contemporary jazz ensemble. Most of the material performed by the L.A. Jazz Quartet is original and draws upon a varied palette of musical styles. The quartet can play music that is unashamedly lyrical and understated while at the same time possesses an ability to be as hard-edged as the music warrants. Reflecting LAJQ’s philosophy that every band member is an integral part of the improvisation process, each member is also a composer contributing their own original material in a collective manner. There is no charge. No reservations required. Validated parking is available in Plaza las Fuentes. Info = jazz@allsaints-pas.org.

Streaming at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. (and for 5:00 p.m. and other streamed services and events) is offered on our website’s live stream pageour Facebook page and our YouTube channel. Check out our live streaming page to download service leaflets and take part in our action of the week.
