Today’s Featured Ministry is Worship Volunteers!
Worship is the center of our life at All Saints Church, and it is from that center that we respond to God’s call to put our faith into action. From Sunday morning worship to Jazz Vespers, many hands are involved in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all and to make God’s love known to everyone. All Saints is a place where inclusion is valued and where people of all faiths are welcomed. Whatever your gifts and interests, there is a place for you to join with others and serve All Saints through our many Worship Service Volunteer Opportunities. Please check out their table on the lawn!

9:00 a.m. in the Forum: Get Out The Vote
with Gary Hall
As Presiding Bishop Michael Curry says, “It is a Christian obligation to vote, and more than that, it is the church’s responsibility to help get souls to the polls.” The Very Rev. Gary Hall returns to All Saints to help us kick off our Get Out the Vote activities. A former ASC staffer, Gary currently serves as Interim Dean of Bloy House, the Episcopal theology school in Los Angeles. He is the retired Dean of the Washington National Cathedral and is no stranger to political activism. Participating in our country’s political life isn’t just about casting our own vote. It requires working together so we can all vote and vote faithfully. There are many ways to get involved, from participating ourselves to supporting others in our congregations and communities. We can all play a role in getting “souls to the polls!”

Children’s Chapel during the 10 a.m. service!
Kindergarten through 5th graders! Come one, come all and join us for Children’s Chapel during the 10:00 a.m. service, where children will experience music, arts and crafts, meditations, storytelling, wiggly fun, spiritual practices for kids and so much more! Children’s Chapel is a space for your child to build church community with children their own age, celebrate diverse cultures and explore who/what God means to them. Here at All Saints, we encourage children and youth to show up as their fully authentic selves every day, ask questions and love one other fiercely through modeling it for them, first, and through our weekly discussions! It is never a dull moment in Children’s Chapel, so please join us! Parents are always welcome. Let’s celebrate and connect! Every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. on Zoom — Reclaiming the Bible
This is “bible study” with a difference. Our goal will be to heal and move beyond the misunderstanding, confusion, hurtful interpretation, oppression, and other ways our bible has been used against us. Jesus is the Word of God, and God’s Word is one of love, hope, and reconciliation. This is the bible we’ll strive together to come home to in this small group study. Facilitated by Dr. Charles Foster. Contact Dr. Foster at drcharlesfoster@icloud.com for Zoom access.

May Jazz Vespers with Lia Booth, Sam Hirsh, Lyman Mederios and Chris Wabich
5:00 p.m. on the Chancel.
One of Southern California’s most talked about young jazz vocalists, Lia Booth has been making a strong impression and building a solid fan base with her fun, dynamic and heartfelt performances.
Pianist, composer and educator Sam Hirsh has been an active member of the Los Angeles jazz scene for a decade and is gaining recognition for his soulful, energetic sound. “Hirsh finds new poetry in the rich vocabulary of the hard bop to post-bop continuum” (Andrew Gilbert). Sam aims to carry on the tradition of this art form and simultaneously create his own voice in the music. After moving to Los Angeles in 2000, Lyman Medeiros quickly became one of the most in-demand bassists in Southern California working with legendary artists such as Diane Schuur, Alex Acuna, Eric Marienthal, Mary Clayton, Lew Soloff, Byron Stripling, Jim Rotondi, Joe Magnarelli, Kenny Rankin and Plas Johnson to name a few. Chris Wabich is known as a versatile and original voice on the drumset. The variety of artists he works with reflects his diversity as both a musician and a producer. His drumming is heard with Ludacris, Sting, Leonard Cohen, Stanley Jordan, Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Sheila E., Mark Murphy, and the Zappa Family. ++++++++

For in-person worship, our guiding principle remains to follow common sense risk reduction guidance for as long as we remain in a declared public health pandemic, so to keep our community safe and well, our in-person worship guidelines include:

  • (as of 1/30/23) Because Los Angeles County, including Pasadena, currently have low levels of COVID-19, masks are recommended, but not required, for everyone indoors.
  • Masks are optional outdoors.
  • Both outdoor and indoor seating is available for services and communion will be served in both locations.
  • Our expectation is that those entering the church will be vaccinated (if vaccination is available to them)
  • Those who choose to be unvaccinated are requested to participate online.
  • Those seated indoors are asked to maintain social distance between individuals/households.
  • If we reach seating capacity in the church, ushers will guide you to alternative seating areas.
  • We ask you not enter if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever over 100.4°F or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, or if you have had contact in the last 14 days with someone diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID- 19.
