This Sunday at All Saints: Sunday, October 23

On Sunday, October 23, 2022  at All Saints Church, Mark Chase will preach at 7:30 a.m. in the chapel and at 10:00 a.m. in the main church. At 10:00 a.m. music will be offered by Canterbury Choir and Children’s Chapel will be led by Ahren Martinez.

At 9:00 a.m. we welcome to the Sunday Forum long-time All Saints friend Reza Aslan. Writer, professor, and Emmy-nominated producer, Reza is an expert in world religions — and as the events in Iran are dominating the world news cycle, there’s no one better to help us understand what is going in his homeland than Reza. Books will be available for purchase, including his newest: An American Martyr in Persia: The Epic Life and Tragic Death of Howard Baskerville. Join us – online or in person!

Also during the 9:00 a.m. join Ahren Martinez for the arts, crafts, music and good vibes of Family Hour — for parents and children (kindergarten through fifth grade) before the 10:00 a.m. service. Parents are welcome to participate or drop children off. Join us in the Learning Center (top floor of Regas House) for music, art, and fun! For more information, contact Ahren at amartinez@allsaints-pas.org.

Following the 10:00 a.m. service, don’t miss one of the best parties of the year as we gather on the lawn for music, food and fun for all ages to celebrate the Joy Filled Generosity which is the wind beneath the wings of everything that makes All Saints Church the joyful center of love, justice and compassion that it is. Don’t miss it!

Join Greeter Jenn McGaw in our Online Coffee Hour on Zoom after the 10:00 a.m. service.

Also happening on this rich and full Sunday is Phone Banking for Measure H Rent Control at 11:15 a.m. in the Seminar Room. You can help keep some affordable housing in Pasadena by supporting Measure H for Rent Control in the coming election. Join us after church in the Seminar Room and call local residents. Pizza and training provided. Just bring your phone. You don’t have to be a Pasadena resident to make calls. For more information visit the Action Table on Sunday or email lorynne@aol.com.

And at 11:30, The League of Woman Voters Pasadena & All Saints’ Women’s Community Present the Pros & Cons of the Ballot Measures in Sweetland Hall. Long-time League members Robbie Davis, Marna Cornell and Hannah MacLaren will present the pros & cons on state, county and local ballot measures. You’ll hear a presentation for each measure including the question, background information on the issue, details of what is being proposed, fiscal effects if passed, supporters’ and opponents’ arguments, and the financial backers of each side. Because this is a League of Women Voters presentation, there will be no discussion of the League’s position (if any) on the measures. Please join us! Register online here: https://bit.ly/3RAZzu1. For information contact Amanda McCormick at amccormick@allsaints-pas.org.

Streaming at 7:30 is offered on Zoom, and at 10:00 a.m. is offered on our website’s live stream pageour Facebook page and our YouTube channel. Check out our live streaming page to download service leaflets and take part in our action of the week.

For in-person worship, our guiding principle remains to follow common sense risk reduction guidance for as long as we remain in a declared public health pandemic, so to keep our community safe and well, our in-person worship guidelines include:

  • Masks are still strongly recommended indoors on the All Saints campus, but they are now optional.
  • Masks are optional outdoors.
  • Both outdoor and indoor seating is available for services and communion will be served in both locations.
  • Our expectation is that those entering the church will be vaccinated (if vaccination is available to them)
  • Those who choose to be unvaccinated are requested to participate online.
  • Those seated indoors are asked to maintain social distance between individuals/households.
  • If we reach seating capacity in the church, ushers will guide you to alternative seating areas.
  • We ask you not enter if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever over 100.4°F or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, or if you have had contact in the last 14 days with someone diagnosed with or suspected to have COVID-19.
