The Talk, April 2021: Rabbi Heather Miller

In the April episode of the LGBTQ Ministry’s speaker series The Talk, we were joined by long-time friend of All Saints Church, Rabbi Heather Miller, founder of Keeping It Sacred. Rabbi Miller talked with us about being made B’Tzelem Elohim—in the Image of God, how queerness can be found in Judaism right from the beginning, and her interfaith work in recognizing the human dignity of every person.

The Talk, March, 2021: Brian Silva

In March 2021’s episode of the LGBTQ+ Ministry’s speaker series The Talk, we were joined by Brian Silva, Executive Director of the National Equality Action Team (NEAT). Brian spoke about the work of NEAT, what it’s been like to partner in social justice work with organizations—including religious ones—across the country, and advise for LGBTQ+ rights advocacy in the year to come.

The Talk, January, 2021: Rowan Larson

The guest speaker for January 2021’s episode of the LGBTQ+ Ministry’s series ‘The Talk’ is Rowan Larson. Rowan is Minister for Christian Formation for Children and Youth and Parish Administrator at Grace Episcopal Church in Newton, MA, and is a candidate for priesthood in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. They spoke to us about their experience as a queer, non-binary candidate for ordination, their work with children and youth, and the importance of adults treating young people as full members of their congregation.

The Talk, November, 2020: The Rev. Carla Robinson

The Rev Carla Robinson is the guest speaker for the November episode of the LGBTQ+ Ministry’s series ‘The Talk’. Carla is a priest at Christ Episcopal Church in Seattle, and was the first Black transgender woman to be ordained in the Episcopal Church. She spoke about her own story, the unique perspective and approach to God that transgender people can bring, and how the church can better support the LGBTQ+ community in its midst.

Alan Yarborough is the guest speaker for the LGBTQ+ Ministry’s “The Talk” on October 30, 2020. Alan works in the Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations, and spoke with us about advocacy work on all levels from the federal to the individual, and how the Episcopal Church can collaborate across different viewpoints.
