All are welcome on Saturday March 3rd for Weicheng Zhao’s Final Doctoral Degree Organ Recital in Celebration of the Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival. The recital will be held in the church beginning at 4:00 p.m. and the program will include the World Premiere of Bist du bei mir by Bill Cunliffe. Guest Artists include Cherry Rhodes and James Walker.
Born in Tianjin, China, Weicheng Zhao began his musical training at the age of five. After receiving a Bachelor of Music degree in 2008, he was appointed a full time faculty member of the Electone Organ at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music. He came to the United States in 2009 to pursue study of the pipe organ with Professor Cherry Rhodes at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music. Upon completing the Master of Music degree in organ performance, he received the distinction as the Outstanding Graduate at the master’s level of the entire Thornton School of Music.
We have been blessed to have Weicheng as a member of the All Saints staff since 2015 and are delighted to be sharing this important milestone in his journey.
