On Saturday, January 14th we celebrated with Norma Yanira Guerra as she was ordained to the priesthood at a festive celebration at St. John’s Pro-Cathedral. This Sunday — March 19th — we welcome her “back home” to All Saints Church as our celebrant at the 9:00, 11:15 & 1:00 p.m. services and preacher at the 1:00 p.m Spanish service.
Norma is currently serving as the Associate for Congregational Development and Pastoral Care at the Church of the Messiah in Santa Ana (where another All Saints alum — Abel Lopez — is the rector.) As her sponsoring parish in the ordination process we were honored to walk with her through the long journey of discernment as a parishioner, staff member and seminarian. We know that her gifts for ministry will be an enrichment to not only the Church of the Messiah but to the Diocese and the wider Episcopal Church.
